What People Are Saying…

“A surprising ring of the doorbell tonight had me jumping up and down like a kid on Christmas morning!

My mom told me a couple days ago she was sending a delivery and I needed to be home. I thought it was flowers. The day turned to evening and the doorbell rang - a box left by the door.

What the heck? Why was I waiting all day for a box?

Inside THE book I have been waiting to get for over a decade, written by my amazing mentor, Lisa Everett Andersen!!!

One day spent on her pharmacy rotation forever changed how I would look at healthcare and practice pharmacy. It opened up a whole new world of healing modalities to explore and started me on my path to wellness. I will always be grateful to her for sharing her knowledge and for being one of my role models.

I thought back to the hours sitting on the living room floor and organizing articles into piles and filing them. Those files were part of her research that would become chapters in her book.

I was just wondering last week if she ever published her book and a signed copy showed up on my doorstep today!! This is the best present!! So excited to read Learning to Thrive in a Toxic World!!!!

Thank you, Lisa ️

Thank you, mom and dad <3”

“Healthcare is becoming ever more expensive and medicine ever more complex. With this continued cost and technology, we seem to get further and further from basic science, especially biochemistry and physiology, which are the foundation for human functions whether in health or disease.  Lisa reminds us to get back to the basic sciences that we should have learned in the first two years of medical school, naturopathic school or early on in NP training, BUT DIDN’T.

Her intimate understanding of pharmacology, pharmacodynamics and biochemistry allow her to see human function at the molecular level, in the cogwheels of the Krebs cycle. She brings us to real solutions in detoxification as it is supposed to happen at the cellular level. She addresses inflammation, the mother of all illness, at its roots and lays out how it must be dealt with in order for the biochemistry to work. She reminds us of our basic organic chemistry training in molecular structure and how it applies to hormones and hormone replacement therapy. She drives home the fact that every cell in our body has the need for and receptor for hormones and furthermore these receptors only function correctly with bio-identical hormone molecules, not conjugated or adulterer horse, cow or pig hormones. In a nutshell, Learning to Thrive in a Toxic World and the Impact of Clinical Endocrinology and BHRT: A Reference for Healthcare Practitioners and Patients is a masterpiece in functional and applied biochemistry.”

— Col. Arden Andersen, DO, PhD, MScPHschool, naturopathic school or early on in NP training, BUT DIDN’T.

“As we are confronted with health issues affecting our lives, we often follow a cultural bias into Western medical science remedies.  This was the case with a diagnosis (misdiagnosis) of rheumatoid arthritis which resulted in a long road of complicated and dangerous treatments.

After discovery of a different approach, Lisa Everett Andersen became our guide into the world of holistic care.  This change constituted a major lifestyle change for a system of general health far surpassing the "silver bullet" of conventional medicine.  Not only is this effective and lifesaving, but ironic since a grandfather, who was a M.D. in decades past, incorporated many of these principals within his healing techniques.

Lisa has helped us through the maze of chemical hype for treatment, and has shown the true and natural value of a holistic approach to overall health.  Her knowledge, combined with the wisdom of her insights, is a gold standard treasure.”

“Navigating human hormones can be tricky and Lisa brings a level of knowledge and expertise that is beyond impressive. We see some pretty complex patients at our clinic and Lisa has "saved the day" on many occasions where leading hospitals, specialists and renowned hormonal "experts" have offered no solutions to the patient.

It's one thing to write a book or lecture, it's quite another to put your knowledge into day to day patient care and get outstanding results - Lisa does just that.

Her book is a must read for clinicians and the general public alike. Clinicians need to understand how diet, toxins and hormonal disruption is all coming together in a negative synergy and creating our poor health. Patients need to arm themselves with this knowledge so that they can either educate their doctors or find ones that are willing to truly treat their body with the respect and holistic viewpoint it deserves.

This incredible book is a must for your library.”

“I had spent the prior 25 or so years of my life involved in self-education and trial and error forays into vitamins, supplements and herbs for my various medical conditions. My medical issues had not been adequately addressed through traditional means. The advice and information I received from others, in conjunction with my own exploration, evolved into a hodgepodge of alternative remedies for myself and for my husband’s memory and cognitive issues.

Once we consulted with Lisa in 2015, however, both my husband and I were put on a researched, internal fortification regimen that I have no doubt greatly extended my husband’s life. It also gave me the mettle, stamina and wellness  to care for him through his death last January.

Lisa is by far the most knowledgeable person I know in the intersection of conventional and natural alternative medicines. Her book demonstrates the experiential and informational wealth that informs her today. She explains how we arrived at the state of our health and what that evolution has spawned in health problems which include, but are definitely not limited to those I struggled with above. Best of all, she gives solutions to solving these health crises. Lisa brings the same academic, accomplished and intuitive approach to this book as she brings to patient care. It’s definitely worth the read.”

-Connie J. Collins, MA, patient, student, former caregiver

“I often seek from Lisa the wisdom which comes from her ever inquisitive mind, her years of experience, and her scientific expertise. When a patient’s condition has me stumped, I can always count on her for a thorough approach to complex concerns.  Read these pages and benefit from the same.”

-Suzanne Rowden, MD, retired USAF physician, residency professor emeritus at USC

“Lisa  Everett Andersen opened my eyes to a new approach to health and wellness over twenty years ago! Her seminars helped advance my thinking about holistic medicine in my own professional career as a physical therapist and in my personal life. My lifestyle changed from her work and as a patient of hers I benefited from her extensive knowledge, her skills and her motivating and caring spirit. If you want to learn how lifestyle changes can give you more control of your own health and wellness, this book is a must read.”

-Gail Ochs, Retired Physical Therapist

“The publication of this comprehensive guide to the holistic universe of clinical nutrition and pharmacology leaves no question that Lisa Everett Andersen’s star now shines more brightly than ever in that universe.

Speaking from the unique perspective of cancer and heart disease survivors under Lisa‘s care, my wife Janet and I have long been the beneficiaries of her amazing expertise, intellect and creative thinking that she now shares with all readers.

For over 25 years, her laser-focused, prevention-oriented protocols have been major components of our overall healthcare regimen, keeping us virtually “drug-free“ of many pharmaceuticals and their often-debilitating side effects.

Now well into our 70’s and beyond, Janet and I thus continue to enjoy amazingly active, healthy lives working, exercising, volunteering and traveling extensively, while Lisa remains the light at the end of our wellness tunnel!”

-Janet C. Hubbell and L. Kenneth Hubbell, Ph.D, Professor Emeritus, University of Missouri at Kansas City

“Our modern world is highly polluted and making us sick. Unfortunately, our healthcare system is not equipped to help patients remove most environmental toxins, nor to empower patient self-care for wellness and disease prevention. Lisa Everett Andersen’s book reflects years of study and clinical experience, filling this gap in conventional clinical care to help patients restore optimum health and achieve resiliency. I highly recommend this book for patients and practitioners alike.”

-Jodi Sherman, MD, Associate Professor, Yale School of Medicine

“Most patients, if given the chance, want to take control of their own health. Lisa Everett Andersen has done the research as supported by her many years of clinical experience. This book will enlighten the reader regarding this nation’s state of health, or lack of it, and how government, insurance companies, and medical conglomerates are in the business of keeping us sick.

Lisa also provides information in her book to help address issues such as self-care, eating practices, the importance of vitamins and supplements, along with a comprehensive understanding of bio-identical hormones and the benefits and validity of proper levels of sex hormones as it pertains to deficiencies and decline in the aging process.”

“Lisa Everett Andersen is a nationally recognized holistic clinical pharmacist, clinical nutritionist, and health educator. Lisa’s new book Learning to Thrive in a Toxic World  teaches people how to thrive and survive. Throughout 99.9% of human evolution, people lived in pristine, unpolluted environments. Within the past several hundred years, humans have managed to pollute the air, water, land and our food supply on the planet. Today, people must educate themselves about the nature of the problem in order to maintain good health in today's toxic world. Lisa’s book discusses how we got here, steps to take to avoid toxins, and effective methods to remove toxins from our bodies. She educates readers about the difference between toxic, synthetic hormones vs healthy, bio-identical hormones. Lisa’s book gives us hope that we can heal ourselves and our planet. I am happy to recommend it, because it may save your life. “

“I have known Lisa Everett Andersen for almost 20 years. She is a truly gifted clinician who is knowledgeable about many fields ranging from pharmacology, nutrition, hormonal therapy to homeopathy. She has a holistic approach with each patient. I have personally found her guidance to be both wise and measured. This book can be a beneficial guide for surviving and thriving in a toxic world.”

-Steve Haltiwanger, MD, CCN, FAIS

“I started seeing Lisa 1997 for perimenopause. She started me on a troche of bio-identical hormone replacement that I’m still using along with Optimal Daily Allowance multi-vitamins, Body & Vision, fish oil, vitamin C, and folic acid as well as other general health items. As the years have gone on and in my career as a flight attendant, I have developed a serious sinus infection, ear problems, and basal cell cancer, as well as problems with my toes and feet. All of which I have turned to Lisa for her advice. She has helped me with realizing the food I eat has everything to do with my total health, and that a multi-vitamin/mineral is needed because the food is not giving my body enough to maintain the good health that will keep my lifestyle going.

When my daughter got so sick she could hardly get out of bed without every muscle in her body aching, she also consulted with Lisa. With all natural products and diet she is pain-free and healthy. Whatever might come to pass in my health, I will always turn to Lisa for the best advice and non-prescription medical treatment. I’m 71, still flying and have a very active life all because of Lisa’s direction.”

-Terry Pederson, patient

“After my doctor diagnosed me with a virus that is linked to autoimmune disease, it left me scared. He referred me to Lisa Everett Andersen, a Holistic Clinical Pharmacist and Certified Clinical Nutritionist specializing in alternative care and custom compounding.

She helped design a plan that I was comfortable with.  She is passionate about educating and healing and took time to explain the process.  She knows how to connect with each individual on their level. She valued my feedback and empowered me to take my health into my own hands and stay healthier. I know I am fighting a very long journey, but Lisa has been and will be with me every step of the way. I am happy to say I have regained so much of my health back and know I must continue to lead my new lifestyle to maintain my health.

She has always addressed all of my concerns and remains a vital part of my healing. Thank you Lisa!”
